Recorded in New York City May 2010 at TLAB Studios, with Miles Arntzen, Landon Knoblock, and Leif Arntzen.
Leif performed My Funny Valentine at a wedding in Vancouver as a musical wedding gift to long time friend and jazz trombonist Brian Harding and his wife Maria. The photograph was captured by his beautiful new bride Maria, who was dancing with her new husband with a small camera slung on her wrist. They both danced close to Leif, and briefly stopping their wedding dance to listen she slipped her camera into position to catch an image of the music being played for their love. After posting some of their favorite photos online, a copy of this image made it's way to New York through the online comments and messages of those who were there to witness the moment, the romance, and the music. It created it's own kind excitement in a similar way the music did when Leif played that song that night. The photo became the corner stone of the video montage of Leif's recording of the song classic (

The track itself is a quintessential singular modern take of the classic vehicle of Chet Baker and Miles Davis, great influences of Leif's. It was recorded in one take. The recording is uniquely Leif, his sound, his voice, the years of knowledge and uncompromising life-living communicated in the placement, shape and sound of every note.
